| Xanga and I are breaking up tonight. I guess you can sum it up to 2 reasons: 1. Because of my unashamed love for Google. (They're hosting my new blog platform) 2. Because the purpose of blogging is to allow people to have their own voice on the web and to organize the world's information from a personal perspective. To be honest, Xanga was never that for me. The origins of my relationship with Xanga is much different. It definitely served its purpose well, but the past is that past, and now its time to move on to the great wide world of Web 2.0, Search Engine Optimization, Google Rank, Public Debate, backlinks, "Content is King", metatags, and so much more. Wow that was ultra geeky...I guess regardless of where I am blogging, I'll still have the same weird ramblings All are welcome to keep tabs on me: http://brandonlagao.blogspot.com/ | | |
| How I wish you could see the potential, the potential of you and me It's like a book elegantly bound, but in a language that you can't read - just yet You gotta spend some time--love, you gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find--love, I will possess your heart
There are days when outside your window, I see my reflection as I slowly pass And I long for this mirrored perspective, when we'll be lovers, lovers at last You gotta spend some time--love, you gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find--love, I will possess your heart
I will possess your heart
You reject my advances and desperate pleas I won't let you, let me down so easily, so easily
You gotta spend some time--love, you gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find--love, I will possess your heart
I will possess your heart.

| I know this is last minute, but if anyone is interested let me know and i'll send you a registration form... Two organizations at Vanguard University (Students in Free Enterprise, www.vusife.org & the Center for Women’s Studies, www.vanguard.edu/cws) are teaming up to put on a Non-profit Entrepreneurship Conference. Friday, Feb 22 1:00 – 4:00 pm Grant Writing Workshop: The least-expensive, but highest-quality grant writing workshop around! 4:00 – 5:00 pm Sweet Connections: Distribute information about your non-profit to potential volunteers (The Vanguard community loves to serve)… Discover many of the most courageous and passionate non-profits in the OC (and beyond)… Delight in sweets in every shape and size (we’re even considering pulling out all the stops and getting our hands on a chocolate fountain)… Saturday, Feb 23 9:00 – 3:30 pm Vision casting – revisit your personal and organizational mission and vision, or discover the power of developing one. Recruiting, retaining, and releasing volunteers – to grow your non-profit, you’ll of course want to tap into the potential of capable volunteers. Hear from experts at leading OC non-profits on how to recruit and retain a team of talented and passionate individuals – and how to release them when their skills or attitudes are not a good fit for your organization. Social enterprise – We’re thrilled that The Social Enterprise Institute (http://www.se-institute.org) will be joining us and unleashing our entrepreneurial spirits by exploring how to incorporate social enterprise into our organizations. From their website: << Social enterprises – non-profit and for-profit organizations that create positive social change within the context of sustainable business models – are developing new and powerful solutions to society’s most challenging social issues. Social enterprises are not traditional non-profit organizations that depend on charitable giving for sustainability, nor are they simply socially responsible for-profit companies. Rather, they represent a powerful new breed of organizations that create sustainable societal change by combining the passion of social mission and the efficiency of a market-based approach.>> I would love to have you join us for one or both of the events… or… if you would like to join just for the Sweet Connections event on Friday afternoon, that is do-able, too. | | |
